Frederick "Derick" Ostrenko is an Associate Professor at Louisiana State University with a joint appointment in the Digital Art concentration at the School of Art and the Cultural Computing research group at the Center for Computation and Technology (CCT). As current Area Head for Digital Art, he teaches courses in animation, creative coding, 3D graphics, and interactive art. His research focuses on interdisciplinary systems that merge art, technology, and culture, emphasizing immersive media, digital twins, and real-time systems.
Education: MFA in Digital+Media from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
Research interests include custom hardware/software interfaces, generative visualizations, and socially engaged art.
